St. Hilary’s Confirmation Program is based on full community catecheses with the commitment to draw teens closer to their community. The Program will help prepare and send forth the youth to strive to be adults in the Church and to continue deepening their relationship with Christ. The Process of the Sacrament of Confirmation will implement the eight components of youth ministry and will also include well developed faith theme lessons, following the set by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Our community will be called to witness and assist to our youth during their process of the Sacrament of Confirmation.
EDGE Junior High Youth Group
The Youth Ministry team of St. Hilary Parish has started up a Junior High Youth Group called EDGE, EDGE under the direction of the Youth Ministry team and Youth Minister. EDGE is for youth in grades 6th-8th.
Saint Hilary’s LIFE TEEN is a ministry who believes that Eucharistic based ministry has the power to transform teens, transform parishes, and transform culture. Through relevant teaching and relational ministry, we aim to bring teens closer to christ. High School age teens can participate in the age-appropriate faith opportunities such as:
The Life Teen Mass that takes place every Sunday at 4:30pm. It is the core of the program providing teens and their families with a liturgy geared toward their spiritual needs. The Life Teen Mass requires a full and active participation of the entire community. The Mass, homily and music are specifically geared to the teens. Teens are involved in the Mass in the different ministries at the Mass specifically; Lectors, Ushers, and Altar-Servers.
After the 4:30PM Mass on Sundays we gather to grow deeper into our faith in our Church Hall. Through engaging sharing of faith led by trained Core Members and Youth Ministers, we attempt to lead our youth closer to the faith.
Every Tuesday at 7pm in the Lounge, we exegetically (using the explanation-application model) go over the readings for the upcoming Sunday. By doing this, we hope to help our teens develop a greater understanding of Salvation History in relation to their lives today.
